So my lady parts has been feeling really off lately, Andy I’ve been constantly spotting for about a month now, along with a not so fresh odor/feeling. Any advice would be welcome
Hi @DizzyKitten, I understand your concerns! Spotting for a month is actually a great reason to visit your GYN or primary care provider because there are many different things that could be causing this depending on your age, health, and medical history. These are all things that are unfortunately kind of hard to gather over the internet.
I will say, however, that bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most common cause of change in vaginal discharge in women of childbearing age. With BV, patients usually have discharge that is off-white or grey, thin and starts to smell fishy. The change in smell is often pretty characteristic of BV. Treatment of BV is antibiotics, so that would have to come from your medical provider! However, I do recommend making a visit to the provider and explaining your issue. They will have more questions to ask in order to make a diagnosis. They will also be able to take a swab, look at the sample under a microscope, and definitively diagnose whatever is going on. This will ensure that no other problems are missed :)
Hope this helps!
Hi @DizzyKitten! Also to note, with the odor and spotting, the first thing to do would be to rule out any type of infection. I would advise to check in with your ob-gyn to have a full exam and evaluation. After a vaginal infection is ruled out, your doctor may be able to give you more insight into why you've been feeling off lately.
Please report back and let us know how things are going!
